How the CIA Used a Fake Sci-Fi Flick to Rescue Americans from Tehran

Wednesday, April 25th, 2007

Anyone remember the American Embassy takeover in Teheran, Iran? I was 12 when that went down. I remember reading news coverage, some time after the initial takeover, about six Americans being helped out of Iran by the Canadians. This article from Wired goes into the details on how those six were spirited out of the country. It’s a story straight out of Hollywood, literally.

Another fine one from the folks at JibJab

Sunday, April 22nd, 2007

JibJab recently released another fine clip.

This time they take on the news media and the changes wrought by 24 hour cable news, our short attention spans and, well, what was I saying?

Will Ferrell Video

Monday, April 16th, 2007

I finally viewed this Will Ferrell video. Hilarious!

For the “oh my god, such a young child!” types that want to scream to social services, IT’S A MOVIE!

Kids

Friday, April 6th, 2007

It’s Good Friday today.

My office is closed, so I’m home hanging out with the kids.

Our youngest (7 next month) just took a bath and is now getting herself ready. As parents, having your kids able to get themselves dressed, ready after bath, ready for bed, etc. is BLISS.

I remark to our youngest that I am proud of her for her being able to get herself ready. I told her how different it now is, from when she was a baby and mom and dad would bathe her and get her ready.

Her reply?

“I was a baby then, I’m six now…”

Of course.

Time to write more

Sunday, April 1st, 2007

Yes, I have written from time to time about why I have this blog - it’s my lame, little outlet on the web, for sharing my thoughts and opinions on anything and everything.

My dedicated group of readers, namely me, can count on me for old, outdated posts about next-to-nothing.

Well, it’s time I shaped up, and offered my readers (me!), more to read, so I have decided that I will blog every day, about the important, the mundane, and the inane.

April Fools

I will probably blog whenever the heck I feel like it, which means “whenever.”

cheers,
Chris
