For the single reader out there who saw a generic, parked page for the site, my bad.
I biffed on the renewal for my domain and godaddy parked the sucker for a few hours today.
I just ponied up my $8.25 to renew the domain.
You and I can continue our conversation now.
cheers,
Chris

Just like being stuck behind a slow car when I’m in a hurry, right now I find myself working on an important assignment, and the tools I need are either down, causing me to get really frustrated.
I’m trying to look up some authority and ranking information for a variety of blogs, using Technorati, but no, it’s down.
How can a site this big and important have performance issues?
They recently re-did the site, with a streamlined and improved interface. Surely they spent some of that time working on the underlying architecture?

To the family members, friends and relatives of someone who has passed away while fighting for our country, may today, Memorial Day, be a day full of fond memories of those who have died in service to the United States.
thanks,
Chris

Yes, I have written from time to time about why I have this blog - it’s my lame, little outlet on the web, for sharing my thoughts and opinions on anything and everything.
My dedicated group of readers, namely me, can count on me for old, outdated posts about next-to-nothing.
Well, it’s time I shaped up, and offered my readers (me!), more to read, so I have decided that I will blog every day, about the important, the mundane, and the inane.
April Fools
I will probably blog whenever the heck I feel like it, which means “whenever.”
cheers,
Chris

It’s time for another season of outdoor soccer. My daughters (third and first grade) both play. I am the assistant coach for the third grader team and the head coach, along with my lovely wife, for the first grade team.
I tell friends and family that I try hard not to be the Steve Martin parent from the movie Parenthood, but there are times when I get a bit wrapped up in both teams doing well.
The third graders began their season today.
Thee won by a score of 8-0.
Officially, scores and records are not kept, this is about having fun, learning the sport of soccer, developing skills and learning how to work together as a team.
Unofficially, parents and grandparents on the sideline was overjoyed to watch their daughters and granddaughters take it to the other team. The third graders dominated today. Within our humble, little league, today was a display of everything clicking, the girls passing the ball, of spacing, of a defense that allowed no shots on goal, of one very bored goalie.
Our oldest nailed two goals in the game. Granted, the other team couldn’t muster much of a defense, but I will chalk some of that to the team’s solid offense, keeping constant pressure on the other team, and most importantly, of playing unselfish soccer. The girls saw, very vividly, what working together can accomplish.
Yeah, yeah, I will mellow out. It’s just a game. I mean, what’s more important than the outcome?
Easy answer.
“Coach, what’s for snack?”

The adventure is over, but if you would like to read an unfiltered and honest trip through Mexico, by motorcycle, check out a trip blog written by a high school classmate.
Shayne records he and friend traveling through Mexico.
I like that the posts are first-person, not vetted through an editor, delivering a colorful take on their travels.

For anybody stumbling across my blog, I just upgraded to WordPress 2.1.
As has always been the case with upgrading WordPress, the process, once I quit being dense, was very simple.
I will have this default theme replaced later this evening, but for now I’m just testing things to make sure nothing evil has happened.
cheers,
Chris
